What will separate you from God?

“For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:38-39

I asked the African pastor this question. “If none of these will separate us from the love of God what keeps us away from God’s love?

He sighed, “I think the witch doctor can keep people away from God?”

“No, he can’t.”

The pastor frowned. “Can the laws of a dictator keep people away from God?”

“No, they can’t.”

He grimaced. “A person’s family can keep him away from God.”’

“No, they can’t.”

The pastor furrowed his brows. “Can the village keep folks away from God?”

“No, it can’t.”

“If none of these African problems keep our people separated from God, what keeps us from God?”

“People separate themselves from God. Refusing God’s plan of salvation keeps us from God. We are given a free will. We are the only ones who can separate ourselves from God. We must decide to ask forgiveness, repent, follow Him and serve Him.”

If God is holding you in the palm of His hand and you decide you don’t want to be with Him, you jump out of His hand of your own choice and land in the pit of fire. The Lord will never close his Hand and force you to stay inside of it with Him, if you want to separate yourself from Him. He gives you a free will. You decide to keep yourself from God.”

Who can separate you from God?

Only YOU.

Blessings,

Have a great week,

Celeste
