He humbled himself

“And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.” Philippians 2:8

The wife of a local pastor became very ill and needed complete bed rest. Since the pastor’s daughter was away at school, the pastor took care of his wife. He fetched all the water from the well, washed the clothes and cooked the food. When the villagers saw the pastor carrying his wife to the outside toilet, they were shocked.

They spread angry indignation. “The pastor has humiliated himself and become a servant to a woman.”

What they intended as criticism came across to the Christians as tribute.

Christ humbled himself and became a servant and died. He allowed himself to be humiliated and nailed to the cross so we could have forgiveness and everlasting life.

Let’s try to humiliate ourselves and become servants, like Christ did.

Thank God His Son humiliated himself for us.

Blessings,

Celeste
