Who will roll the stone away?

After the crucifixion the women were on their way to the tomb. They talked among themselves about who could take the stone away from the opening, so they could get inside to anoint the body. The women kept walking toward the tomb, knowing there was a giant boulder in front of the sepulchre, too heavy for them to move. Still they kept heading toward the place of burial.

What was the point of carrying spices to the tomb if they couldn’t get to the body?

Mark 16:1-3 “And when the sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of James, and Salome brought sweet spices, that they might come and anoint him, and very early in the morning, the first day of the week, they came unto the sepulchre at the rising of the sun. And they said among themselves, who shall  roll us away the stone from the door of the sepulchre.”

Matthew 28:2  “There was a great earthquake for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven and came and rolled back the stone from the door and sat upon it.”

Luke 24:2 “They found the stone rolled away from the sepulchre.”

Mark 16:4 “When they looked they saw that the stone was rolled away, for it was very great.”

Were they walking in faith, trusting God that the obstacle would be removed?

As they discussed the problem, the Lord was taking care of it.

“Before they call, I will answer, while they are still speaking, I will hear.” Isaiah 65:24

As soon as we call, the Lord answers.

Walk in faith, trust God, keep going forward, and He will open the door for you.
