Does anyone know?

“Be not thou ashamed of the testimony of the Lord.” II Timothy 1:8

If you are a Christian, does anyone know?

In Africa when someone becomes a Christian he often takes a biblical name on the day of his baptism.

Meeting Noah, Seth, Elisha or Saul, I could ask, “When did you become a Christian?”

He could always give the date that he was born-again. “I believed on Jesus March 10, 2000 and was baptized.”

Secondly , these new believers almost always tithed and gave to the church. In my opinion, they were forced to give so much to witch doctors, local cult leaders, idols and dead ancestors that they kind of got into the habit of giving to a “god or deity.” No disrespect intended.

On annual harvest day, people brought tithes, not just of their money but of their crops and animals.  There were so many piles of beans, rice, corn, peanuts, bananas, and  papayas that on some years the heaps were as high as the church. Even donated chickens, goats, and pigs took up huge areas outside. Everyone living in the village saw who gave what and how much.

Thirdly, believers attended the local fellowship. No one stayed home to watch an evangelist on television, because there weren’t any. A sick person naturally went to church so other believers could pray for him to get well.

In our village of three thousand there was only one evangelical church, and it was apparent to everyone, who the Christians were.

If you’re a born-again believer, does anyone know?
