Mary Magdalene and other women were among those who provided for Jesus from their substance. Mary Magdalene followed Christ, wept during his crucifixion, watched him being taken from the cross and observed when they placed him in the tomb. She never left Him. (Luke 8:3)
Some of the disciples had run away and hid, and others were offended by Him. “After men and women no longer walked with him she remained loyal.” (Matthew 11:10-22.)
Mark 15:47 wrote that Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of Joses secretly went to the tomb and observed where Christ was laid. Mary Magdalene and the other Mary brought more spices to give Christ a proper burial. Early on the Sabbath morning she returned to the grave to prepare the body, but the tomb was empty. (Luke 23:55-56 and Mark 16:1)
“When Jesus was risen early the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had cast seven devils. And she went and told them that had been with them, as they mourned and wept.” (Mark 16:9-10, Luke 8:2 and John 10:3-4, John 20:15-16).
When Jesus met Mary Magdalene at the empty tomb, He said. “Go to my brethren and say unto them. I ascend unto my Father, and your Father: and to my God, and your God. Mary Magdalene told the disciples that she had seen the Lord, and that he had spoken these things unto her.” John 20:17-18
Mary Magdalene never left Him and neither should we.
