There were several elders in our village, who tried to find the way to God.
They sent one son to the Catholic Church, another son to the witch doctor, another to the Baptist church, and another to the mountain to kill a chicken as a sacrifice to their ancestors.
“It sounds like a lot of trouble to me. Why do you do this?”
“We have to find the right one. Which one is right?”
“Jesus is the way, the truth and the life, no man can go to the Father except through Jesus.” (John 14:6)
“You are a white lady, so that is your way and is right for you.” The man frowned. “We must find our way so we send our children to investigate which way will lead us to God.”
It seemed to me that these people were far more religious than Americans. How many fathers here in the States would send their children to different churches to learn which one was speaking the truth?
I believe there’s only one way to have peace with God, which is through Jesus Christ.
But many Africans call Jesus the white man’s God. Convincing them that He is GOD Almighty, The Lord of all was difficult and still is.
I’m still searching for the best response to this dilemma.
What do you think?
