What are grace and mercy?
Hebrews 4:16 “Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”
Grace is unmerited favor. an undeserved gift.
Example. You go to work every day and do your job. You never do anything more than what is expected of you, exert no extra effort, and never work overtime.
Your boss arrives and says, “I’m going to give you a thousand extra dollars each month, which you don’t deserve and haven’t earned.”
You just received man’s grace, so what is God’s grace?
Here’s another example. “You beat up someone and left him for dead.”
The judge says, “Instead of sending you to prison, I will be merciful and set you free.”
“God, be merciful to me a sinner.” (Luke 18:13) Mercy reminds me of a pardon.
God is merciful and forgave all my sins. By His grace I will spend all eternity in Heaven with Him.
God is good.
I couldn’t survive without His GRACE and MERCY.
How about you? Can you share some examples of grace and mercy?
