Have you looked around at the horrible mess the world is in, then looked up to Heaven and asked, “God, why don’t you do something?”
The Lord looks down from Heaven and says, “Where are my people? Why aren’t they doing anything?”
Mark 6:35-44 tells of Jesus preaching to the multitude. Afterwards, his disciples came to Him and suggested He send the people away to buy bread. Jesus said, “You give them something to eat.” Then He asked, “How many loaves do you have?” They said, “Five, and two fish.” Jesus took the small amount of bread and fish, blessed it, and fed the five thousand.
Jesus said, “You give them something to eat.”
Use what you have to make the situation better.
Almighty God is the Creator of the Universe and everything in it, so He doesn’t need our little offerings and gifts. But He wants us to surrender them to Him to use for His Glory.
It seems to me that the more we give of the less we have, the greater is the result. The bigger the answer to prayer and more abundant the blessings.
As believers on earth, we should do something. Speak against the evil in the world. Assist and minister to those who are unable to help themselves. Relieve the pain and suffering by sharing and giving our time, energy, possessions, and strength.
Let’s do something about the wretched state of the world. Give that last loaf of bread and fish to God. He will use it as a testimony of Christ’s love, a witness of His saving grace. As a result, the conditions of the world and those around us will improve.
