GIVE TO THE ONE WHO ASKS YOU
“Give to the one who asks you, and do not turn away from the one who wants to borrow from you.”
Keti came almost daily asking for money to travel to visit a relative. So I hired him to carry dirt in a wheelbarrow which would later be used for mud blocks. After checking on the exact price for hauling dirt in a wheelbarrow, I was prepared for his demands.
He asked for a higher price but not as high I thought he would ask, so I paid him. He left for his trip and was gone for a year.
Ironically we were quite relieved that he and his wily schemes were gone for awhile. And his wife and children had more money and food in their home and were happier.
Sometimes giving to the one who asks can have a lot of extra benefits.
