Matthew 6:5

“And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full.”

I visited a lot of sick Christian people in their homes. They weren’t hypocrites.

Whenever I handed the person pills to swallow, someone would bring a cup of water.

Every time without fail the patient closed her eyes and prayed for several minutes. Then she opened her eyes and swallowed the tablets.

This always humbled and blessed me.

There have been very few times in my life when I prayed over the medicine before taking it. But doesn’t praying even before taking medicine make sense as Christians?
