Matthew 6:26-27 “Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your Heavenly Father feeds them.   Are you not much more valuable than they? Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?

Here in the States, the local birds are creatures we may no longer notice every day. We are used to seeing and hearing them.

But some of the most beautiful birds I’ve ever seen inhabit West Africa.

These gorgeous creatures were all new to me. So they always reminded me of our Heavenly Father feeding them.  Their colors, shapes, sizes, and singing were so different from American birds. Without a bird encyclopedia, I had no idea of the types of birds they were, but God knew.

We are precious to the Lord, our maker, more valuable than the birds.  They didn’t store food or reap crops, but our Heavenly Father fed them.

Let every bird we see be a reminder of how precious we are to the Lord.
