Matthew 7:19-20 “Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them.”

It’s not our job to cut down trees that bear bad fruit and throw them into the fire. That’s for the Lord to do.

It is our responsibility to look for the fruit to determine if someone is a genuine believer and if not share Christ with them.

The local witchdoctors were not as terrifying to me as they were others because they were always easy to spot. They had a strange odor about them and carried bags of dead animals or fetishes. And hung other smelly idols from their waists or shoulders.

They never disguised themselves and went into a church or group of believers to deceive people. We all knew them.

None of us ever saw anything good from them.

They bore no good fruits, but no one ever harmed them as they lived among us.

The Lord will cut down the bad trees and cast them into the fire.
