MARCH 2

THE RAIN CAME AND THE WINDS BEAT AGAINST THE HOUSES

Matthew 7:25-27 “”The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall because it had its foundation on the rock. But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.”

In Africa when it rained, everything and everyone came to a complete halt. Even those who didn’t have umbrellas took shelter and waited out the storm.

The people always went inside a solid structure, usually built on rock to wait until the rains and wind were finished.

The rains were harsh and cold. The winds turned umbrellas inside out and some winds lifted roofs off homes.

Places not built on solid foundations could break apart and slide away.

It’s always safest to stay on a firm foundation, like Christ.
Never leave Him. It’s sandy, wet, and dangerous without Him.
