Matthew 8:20 “Jesus replied, Foxes have holes and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay his head.”

If we keep things in perspective, our sufferings will never be as bad as we think.

I traveled north to establish several health programs. I spent the first night in the pastor’s storeroom on a wooden bed. The next night I slept on a piece of foam on the floor of the deacon’s house. I spent the following night in a room with bats and other flying critters. During that month, I never had a decent place to lay my head.

Then the Lord convicted me. Jesus never had a place to put his head during His years traveling, preaching, and healing. Our Lord was inconvenienced and lacked every-daily comforts. He had no place to lay His head.

It wasn’t a matter of simple inconvenience with Christ. He endured great physical suffering when He went to the cross and died for us because He loved us.

Whenever you find yourself complaining of your hardships, think of Christ and the pain and agony of His betrayal and crucifixion.

Your own troubles and suffering will seem small.
