THE HARVEST IS PLENTIFUL, BUT THE WORKERS ARE FEW
Matthew 9:37 “Then he said to his disciple, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few.”
There are many lost souls, unbelievers on earth. They are the potential harvest.
Over the years, the number of evangelists and missionaries throughout the world has decreased.
How do we as Christians get others to go into the world and preach the Gospel? Only the Lord can touch someone’s heart and inspire someone to do this.
Many of us involved in outreach and evangelism in Africa prayed about reaching the unreached areas. We decided to work with some local churches for this.
We asked each congregation for individuals who were willing to go to the far ends of the country to preach the Gospel.
I was proud as two people volunteered from our small village church. They were sent out.
We’d heard the suffering they’d endured, almost starving. We were hesitant to have them give a report to the rest of the congregation.
God is greater than our doubts and fears.
These missionaries never spoke of the hardships. They emphasized, God’s goodness and faithfulness, to watch over them and always provide in the midst of difficulties.
After that, four more people stepped forward to go as missionaries.
Lord, send us as workers into the field for the harvest is plentiful but the workers are few.
