MAY 16

Matthew 12:34-35 “You brood of vipers, how can you who are evil say anything good? For out of the overflow of the heart the mouth speaks. The good man brings good things out of the good stored up in him, and the evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in him.
The words that come out of your mouth indicate what is in your heart.
No one who tries hard will ever be able to clean up his speech. The Holy Spirit must come into a man’s heart to change it and give him new speech.
During the years I worked in Africa, I never heard bad language. Nearly all the Americans I met were missionaries. Their talk was Christ-centered.
Local people who did not know the Lord and worshipped ancestors or idols, cussed and spoke vulgar words in their own native tongue, their heart language.
I didn’t understand a word they said.
I never bothered to learn those words in local languages when there were so many more important words I had to learn.
