Matthew 15:25-26 “The woman came and knelt before him. “Lord help me!” she said. He replied “It is not right to take the children’s bread and toss it to their dogs.”
The Jews often called Gentiles dogs because they considered them pagan people.
Jesus was not rejecting this Canaanite woman. And He was not degrading her by using this term. He was contrasting the Jewish attitude with His own.
She did not argue with Jesus. She agreed to be considered a dog as long as she could get a blessing from Jesus for her daughter.
She sought out Jesus.
She knelt before him.
She cried to him for help.
Her prayer was answered.
