Matthew 16:23 “Jesus turned and said to Peter, “Get behind me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to me; you do not have in mind the things of God, but the things of men.”
In the wilderness the devil tempted Jesus. He ordered the devil to leave Him. Jesus set the example and we should do the same.
In Africa surrounded by a lot of practicing witch doctors and sorcerers, it was common to hear almost daily a remark about evil spirits.
“Evil spirits are troubling me.”
“The bad spirits keep me awake at night.”
“The demonic spirits are disturbing my thoughts.”
Through God’s Word and the teachings in church the new Christians in Africa learned to send evil spirits away in the name of Jesus.
“Leave me alone Satan.”
“Go away devil.”
“Take your evil thoughts and depart, Satan.”
Jesus gave us the authority to send those evil spirits away.
