Matthew 17:23 “They will kill him and on the third day he will be raised to life.”

Bible commentaries suggest that Jesus’ disciples heard only his first words. Their beloved master would be killed. How sad. They were filled with grief. It’s suggested they didn’t heard his last words or maybe didn’t understand.

Since Lazarus had been raised from the dead and the widow’s son at Nain raised to life, the disciples should have understood.

The disciples were like many of us. We focus on the bad news, the unpleasant words. And sometimes overlook the good news.

The good news is that because of Christ’s resurrection, we, too after death will be resurrected.
